Your 2024 GLT Awards winners have been showing off their shiny new trophies in the most creative ways. Here’s our favourites.

Lots of winners and finalists reacted on social media during and after the annual Group Leisure & Travel Awards ceremony, and since the trophies have made their way back to their new homes, we’ve loved seeing how the class of 2024 have been celebrating.

This year’s Group Leisure & Travel Awards once again rewarded the best of the best across group travel culminating in the awards ceremony on Thursday 27th June at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London.

Hosted by comedian and magician Pete Firman, and GLT publisher Rob Yandell, all the winners were announced by the 2024 Awards Partners.

Among the winners were Thursford Christmas Spectacular, which picked up the Best Christmas Experience Award for the first time, the Tower of London which topped the Best Historic Attraction or Venue category and the Isle of Wight which won Best UK Destination for a second year running; the team even took their trophy on a tour of some of the island’s group-friendly places afterwards!

Amy Summers from Visit Isle of Wight said: “I’m thrilled that the Isle of Wight has been named the Best UK Destination for a second year in a row. This is great news not only for Visit Isle of Wight, but for all of the Island businesses that deliver such a great service for groups, including the transport providers to, from, and on the Island.”

Buckingham Palace was voted Best UK Attraction by readers of Group Leisure & Travel. Iain Terry from the Royal Collection Trust, said: “Thank you to everyone who voted for us, we are truly grateful for any recognition such as this from the travel trade and group organisers and even more honoured that the award was for Best UK Attraction. The GLT Awards was a wonderful evening of celebration, and we now look forward to welcoming visitors to Buckingham Palace this summer.”

Alexandra Rocheteau Hasan, groups and travel trade manager at London Transport Museum, said: “We’re so proud to see London Transport Museum named Best Museum or Gallery by readers of Group Leisure & Travel.

“It’s a fantastic acknowledgement of the excellent experiences our team works hard to offer our guests, and reaffirms our commitment in providing a great experience to groups, whether they’re visiting our galleries and exhibitions in Covent Garden, exploring secret Tube locations on a Hidden London tour, or stepping behind the scenes at our Depot.”

Ellie Fulcher, sales manager for groups and affinity at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, which won Best Cruise Line, added: “As a team, we work closely with group leaders and operators to curate the perfect holiday for their groups, and it is incredible to have that hard work and dedication acknowledged by readers of Group Leisure & Travel and we would like to thank everyone so much for voting for us.

“Of course, none of this would be possible without our fantastic teams, both shoreside and shipside, who work with us to deliver our group cruises and ensure our guests have the best cruise experience possible.”
