The Group Leisure & Travel Awards dinner and ceremony will be bursting with laughter and music on 26th June in London when comedian, actor and songman Gary Wilmot takes to the stage to entertain guests.

Gary Wilmot, GLT Awards host 2025

Gary will host the ceremony, announce the finalists and present the trophies to the winners, alongside our Awards Partners.

Once again the popular dinner and ceremony will take place at the five-star Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London on Thursday 26th June after a sell-out occasion in 2024.

Britain’s only national awards for the group travel sector moved back to London last year to great acclaim with guests saying the event was one of the best ever staged.

It’s the culmination of a unique initiative that recognises and rewards the best in group travel and tourism through categories such as Best UK Attraction, Best Group Tour Operator, Best Theatre Production, and Best Garden Visit.

Rob Yandell, publisher of Group Leisure & Travel, said: “Gary is a fantastic entertainer and we are so pleased that he can join our much anticipated event on 26th June. The evening is the highlight of the year when we recognise venues, destinations and people who make up the sector.

“In particular we present the unique Group Travel Organiser of the Year Award® and this year we have increased the prize up to £2,500 for the eventual winner of this prestigious accolade. We also have a lot of fun and the whole Group Leisure & Travel team are really looking forward to a very special occasion.”

In 1989 Gary moved into theatre and his first role saw him play Bill Snibson in Me And My Girl at the Adelphi Theatre. His career has seen him starring in many and varied stage shows and musicals, both touring and in the West End. These include Wicked, Oklahoma, The Wizard of OzChitty Chitty Bang Bang and many more.

Gary has also featured as the resident Pantomime Dame at the London Palladium each year since the Olivier-winning production started back in 2017.

Sharon Yandell of Group Leisure & Travel added: “I have seen Gary several times at the annual Palladium panto and he was absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to see him at our awards this year and I know all our guests are in for a real treat.”
