This July, groups will be able to visit Easton Walled Gardens in Lincolnshire to view hundreds of sweet pea plants during Sweet Pea Week.
The event will take place between the 3rd and the 10th July and will feature over 100 types of sweet pea, such as heritage, modern, scented, striped, edged and bicolour for groups to enjoy.
The flora will be spread over the 12 acres of Easton Walled Gardens, showcasing the oldest known sweet peas through to modern grandifloras such as Almost Black.
Groups may spot flowers such as Fire and Ice, which has a powerful scent and is one of the most vigorous of the small-flowered heirloom, Olive D, named in memory of Olive D Daniels, and Rosina, a lavender all-purpose sweet pea.
They will be displayed on canes, drums and wigwams, throughout the pickery, vegetable and cottage gardens.
When visiting, groups can also pick their own bunch of sweet peas to take home, or buy from over 50 seed varieties in order to grow in their own gardens.
Visitors will also be encouraged to stop by the tea rooms to pick from a selection of light lunches and salads after their visit to the gardens.
Group visits
Group visits are available for parties of 15 or more.
Meet and greet visits, tours of the gardens, 20 minute introductions, and catering options are all available for groups, and coach drivers are offered tea, coffee and free entry.
The tour of the gardens lasts around one hour, whereas a 20 minute introduction includes a short talk about the history of the gardens and the family, and the collapse of the house and gardens before its revival.
A map is also available online for groups who want help putting together an itinerary. It includes places to stay, things to do and where to eat.
