The 2025 event is open for group visits between Tuesday 13th May and Sunday 18th May.

Next year’s event, The Spirit of Water, will be inspired by water in all its different forms - rain, water, ice and more - using floral displays throughout the cathedral.

It takes place between 13th and 18th May and will complement the cathedral’s summer art exhibition, Living Water, which explores the power of water and its ability to hold memories and shape the identity of a place.

The festival’s design team is led by the cathedral’s creative director of flowers, Michael Bowyer, MBE who is a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) judge and the president of the South West area of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS).

Floral arrangements made up of more than 30,000 blooms will adorn the cathedral’s interior.

Michael is joined by the floral designer Debbie Wadge, a NAFAS national judge and National Associate of Honour and Susan Branch as their administrator.

Visitors can expect to see an installation of woven willow ‘raindrops’, providing a canopy down the length of the cathedral as well as a ‘wave’ of woven cane at the high altar.

Group rates for the Flower Festival

There is a special rate for group tickets. Bookings can be made between 10am and 4pm Monday to Saturday (except on Wednesday when the last slot is 3.30pm) and Sunday tickets are between 12.30pm and 3pm.

The experience is said to take an hour and groups could add something else on to their visit to the cathedral such as a tour or demonstration.

Pre-booked group rate tickets can be held on reserve until a calendar month before the booking date, when confirmation of final numbers and pre-payment will be requested.
