Portsmouth International Port welcomed their first maiden call of the year when Viking Vela sailed into the city.

Classified as a small ship, the Viking Vela has 499 staterooms that can host 998 guests. Having entered service at the end of 2024 she is spending her inaugural season in the Mediterranean and northern Europe.

Viking Vela recently completed a seven-day cruise from Barcelona, visiting Portsmouth as the penultimate location on the voyage, and was the first cruise ship to visit the city in 2025. Passengers had the chance to explore the city and surrounding attractions.

Viking has announced new ocean itineraries on board Viking Vela, including new itineraries for 2025. Itineraries range from eight to 29 days and locations vary from the British Isles to northern Europe and the Mediterranean to Scandinavian fjords. Cruises provide opportunities to explore famous cities, historic locations and picturesque coastlines.
