Group tour specialist, G Adventures has revealed its top destinations worth visiting in 2019.
From visiting lesser known regions of the globe to enjoying delicious foods from far flung places, groups travelling in 2019 will have plenty of choice.
1. Japan
Japan’s popularity seems to only be growing, especially as it warms up for its moment in the rising sun. In 2019, Japan plays host to the Rugby World Cup, and not long afterwards is the summer Olympics in 2020. For 2019, G Adventures has revised its popular Tokyo to Kyoto tour, which will now travel further off the tourist trail to cities including Tottori and Hagi.
2. Taiwan
A new destination for G Adventures in 2019 is Taiwan, which is one of the lesser-visited and considered to be one of the most underrated countries in Asia. As food and travel have become increasingly co-dependent, Taiwan has a growing reputation with groups of travelling foodies. The tour operator offers a ten-day Taiwan tour suitable for groups.
3. Iceland
With the final season of Games of Thrones airing next year, its filming locations will no doubt be flung into the spotlight once more and Iceland is no exception.
While many tourists stick to the main tourist sites, G Adventures takes its low-impact, small group tours further afield, ensuring you can truly make the most of your visit and experience more unusual areas. A new Wellness Iceland trip is one of ten new Wellness tours introduced by G Adventures for 2019.
4. Italy
On 2nd May 2019, Italy will celebrate the 500th anniversary of artist Leonardo da Vinci’s death and there will be a host of celebrations taking place throughout the country.
Despite some of its main sites often being rather busy with tourists, there are still plenty of places to explore outside the major cities, such as on G Adventures’ new Local Living Coastal Tuscany trip, where travellers will be hosted at a former G Adventures’ chief experience officers’ family home in Capalbio.
5. Argentina
Visitors to parts of Argentina in July 2019 will be treated to a solar eclipse on the 2nd of the month, and from October G Adventures’ will offer a new trip in its Wellness travel style, featuring morning yoga sessions and afternoon excursions in Patagonia.
6. Northern Sri Lanka
G Adventures is launching a new tour called Sailing Sri Lanka - North Coast, taking travellers to sail the far-north. This lesser-travelled region of Sri Lanka was cut off from tourism for decades due to civil war, but it’s now open for business.
