The once-in-a-lifetime trips include a coastal adventure from Land’s End to John O’Groats and a grand tour of Norway.
Airedale is celebrating its 35th year with the launch of its biggest ever programme and more than 40 new itineraries for groups in the UK, Europe and further afield.
Its 2021 packages feature a special collection of ‘Bucket List’ holidays including a ‘Grand Tour of Scotland’ taking in the Highlands and islands and a 15-day ‘Temples, Tigers & the Himalayas’ experience in India.
Some of the ‘Bucket List’ itineraries:
- Land’s End to John O’Groats: the nine-day tour begins in Cornwall with a visit to the Eden Project and charming St Ives before a journey to Plymouth and a scenic rail journey all the way to Aberdeen. It then resumes by coach through Royal Deeside to Balmoral, then travels through scenic Speyside and stops at one of the distilleries for a tour and tasting of their single malt. Highlights, aside from the grand finale, include the Queen Mother’s Castle of Mey and eloping to the famous Gretna.
- Norwegian Coastal Voyage: this grand tour includes a return cruise along the coast and breathtaking fjords on a Hurtigruten ship, sailing way beyond the Arctic Circle to the top of Europe. It also features the contrasting cities of Oslo and Bergen plus a trip on the Bergen Railway linking the two across the ‘roof of Norway’ and much more.
Airedale’s managing director, Linda Schulz said they were grateful to loyal customers for their support during this time, many of whom she said have rebooked for next year. She added: “We are planning a number of special events to celebrate 35 years, but meanwhile we have made the ‘Airedale Bucket List’.
“You can travel with us from Land’s End to John O’Groats on one tour, island hop around the Hebrides, cross the Arctic Circle to the ‘Land of the Midnight Sun’ by train or cruise ship, or we can even charter your group’s own small ship, cruising Croatia’s Adriatic islands. Airedale really can take your group anywhere; the world is your oyster!”
The 2021 programme also features a number of garden tours, UK favourites and ‘exciting events’ such as the Edinburgh Tattoo and the spectacular Kynren.
Commercial director Rob Carroll said: “All the Airedale favourites are there, but we have expanded our selection to include exciting events, ‘Glorious Gardens’ tours in conjunction with the National Garden Scheme and even a series of ‘Taste Sensations’, where you can taste tapas on the Andalusian coast, make pasta at a hands-on cookery class in the Tuscan hills, or sample the wines of the Wolds whilst staying at a Yorkshire castle.”
