Elf%3A The Musical

Casting has been unveiled for Elf: The Musical which will head to Theatre Royal Plymouth and The Lowry, Salford for limited runs this winter.

Liz McClarnon will star as Jovie and Louis Emerick will take on the role of Santa Claus in this Christmas musical.

They will appear alongside the previously announced Ben Forster as Buddy, Joe McGann as Walter and Jessica Martin as Emily Hobbs, who all reprise their roles from the 2015 Christmas run in the West End.

The musical will open on 11th November for a week in Plymouth before visiting The Lowry, in Salford where it will run from 24th November until 14th January.

Synopsis: Elf: The Musical

The musical is based on the 2003 film, Elf, starring actor Will Ferrell. The show tells the story of Buddy the Elf, an orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole to live with the elves. The story follows Buddy’s search for his real family on earth, and the friendships he makes along the way. 

Casting

Liz McClarnon is best known for being one third of British chart topping girl group Atomic Kitten. 

Her theatre credits include Legally Blonde, War Of The Worlds and more recently in the hit musical SHOUT.  She is also a regular on both TV and radio programmes including Celebrity Masterchef, Hotter Than My Daughter and Heart North West Breakfast.

Louis Emerick is best known for his portrayal of Mick Johnson in the soap opera Brookside and for his recurring role of PC Walsh in Last of the Summer Wine. His numerous television and film credits include Cold Feet, The Bill, Holby City, Doctors and Layer Cake.

His theatre credit include: The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, On the Ledge, Basil and Beattie and The Full Monty.
