Canadian circus company Cirque Alfonse will headline the London Wonderground festival with new show Barbu from 15th June until 25th September.
London Wonderground is a summer festival which takes place at the South Bank Centre; the event boasts cabaret, circus, comedy, music and children’s shows.
There are also indoor and outdoor bars, places to eat, a bandstand, fairground rides, a maze and sideshows.
GTOs only have to book tickets for the acts they’d like to see; so entry overall to the festival site is free.
Cirque Alfonse
Cirque Alfonse will perform at the South Bank Centre following Barbu’s European premier at Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Barbu has been described as ‘edge-of-your-seat, off-the-wall entertainment’, and encompasses dare-devil acrobats and an electro-trad band.
The storyline of Barbu delves into the origins of the circus in Montreal at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries.
Audiences have been told bu Cirque Alfonse to expect astonishing performances and seemingly outrageous feats, and are advised to come with an open mind - political correctness has no place in this show.

Briefs
The second headline act at London Wonderground has been confirmed as Briefs: an all-male burlesque troupe.
Briefs has spent the last year touring the globe, and the London Wonderground performance will include burlesque dancing and circus skills.
