City & Village Tours has launched ‘The Strictly Tea Dance’, a new offering for groups that combines dancing and afternoon tea.
‘The Strictly Tea Dance’ takes place each Wednesday afternoon on board the air-conditioned ‘Tereza Joanne’, a large venue boat moored in the Royal Docks in London’s East End.
The three-and-a half-hour entertainment package, part show and part get-up-and-dance, is hosted by comedian and impressionist Chris Wheeler, with a showcase of ballroom and Latin dances presented by professional dancers Kerry Tite and Jonathan Reed.
The location, not far from the Brick Lane Music Hall, offers free parking for coaches and cars, and the opportunity to enjoy the views across the Royal Docks towards Canary Wharf from the rooftop terrace of the ‘Tereza Joanne’.
Commenting on the new package, Gyll King, proprietor of City & Village Tours, said: “Our group travel organiser clients know that they can rely on us to put together a well-organised, entertaining and fun event. In London they also want somewhere that’s easy to get to.
“We’ve put together ‘The Strictly Tea Dance’ with all that very much in mind, especially the free parking for coaches. The event, which runs from 12noon to 3.30pm, is one of our ‘Jam Buster’ events, timed to ensure coaches can get away well before the evening rush hour.
“With breath-taking demonstration dances from the professionals, participation dances as part of the show, and an open floor for traditional tea dancing, this new weekly event is suitable for dancers and non-dancers alike. An afternoon on board the ‘Tereza Joanne’ will give groups of all ages another enjoyable and memorable experience.”
Prices for ‘The Strictly Tea Dance’ are for groups of 25 or more. The price includes savoury afternoon tea canapés on arrival, a classic afternoon tea and limitless tea and coffee.
