Groups visiting Liverpool can now once again book a combined river cruise and open top bus tour ticket after the package was reintroduced.
The newly named River Explorer Cruise & Sightseeing Bus Tour, which takes over from the ‘Do the Double’ offer, is now on sale for those looking to see Liverpool’s most famous sites, with groups of 20 or more able to save money on tickets. The tour option returns for the first time since the pandemic began over two years ago.
Each ticket includes a 50-minute River Explorer Cruise on the Mersey Ferry, plus a guided tour on Liverpool’s City Explorer bus, so guests can see the best of the city from both the water and land.
Organisers of the two combined tours say that one ticket covers the city’s outstanding architecture, culture, and heritage.
The ferry trip offers views of the Liverpool and Wirral waterfront and includes recorded commentary. The bus tour provides the opportunity to see some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including the Royal Albert Dock, the Cavern Quarter, and the Chinese Arch.
Gary Evans, assistant director for customer delivery for the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, said: “We are absolutely thrilled for the return of the River Cruise & Sightseeing Bus Tour.
“The experience offers visitors all the very best that our great city region has to offer from both the land and the sea, and we are really looking forward to finally welcoming visitors back.”
Ann Meek, managing director of City Explorer Bus Tours, added: “Everyone at City Explorer Liverpool is excited to restart selling the River Cruise & Sightseeing Bus Tour ticket again as it is a customer favourite and is absolutely the best way for groups to see everything our wonderful city has to offer.”
The team can also organise a dedicated open top bus which can meet a group following the River Explorer Cruise. This is subject to availability and group size.
