Strictly judge, Craig Revel Horwood will be returning to the role of Miss Hannigan in the upcoming UK tour of Annie.
Horwood previously played the role of the infamous orphanage owner on the West End as well as during the 2015/16 run.
The new performance will open at Opera House Manchester on 2nd February 2019 and will be running until August 2019 where it will close in Cardiff.
Horwood will share the role of Miss Hannigan, with TV star Anita Dobson kick-starting the tour in the role.
Further casting for the show is yet to be announced.
About Craig Revel Horwood
Craig Revel Horwood is best known for being a judge on all 16 series of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.
His other West End theatre credits include Cats, Miss Saigon, and Crazy for You. Craig directed and choreographed the recent tour of Sister Act The Musical as well as the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour for the past six years. He also choreographed the film Paddington 2.
Synopsis of Annie
Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery and torment at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. Determined to find her real parents, her luck changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas at the residence of famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks. Spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search.
