The musical Crazy for You is to open at the Theatre Royal in Plymouth this August as it embarks on a UK tour.
The romantic comedy musical, which features mistaken identities, plot twists, heartbreak and happiness, includes a score from the Gershwin brothers’ songbook and specifically songs such as I Got Rhythm, They Can’t Take That Away From Me and Embraceable You.
The tour begins at the Theatre Royal in Plymouth on 17th August before travelling across the UK to venues including Leeds Grand Theatre (29th August – 2nd September), Dublin Bord Gais Energy Theatre (19th – 23rd September), The Bristol Hippodrome (10th – 14th October) and Norwich Theatre Royal (31st October – 4th November).
The tour will culminate at Liverpool Empire from 5th to 9th December.
Cast
TV presenter and previous winner of Strictly Come Dancing, Caroline Flack, will make her stage debut as Irene alongside Tom Chambers who will play the character of Bobby.
Flack is most famed for her role as a TV presenter on shows including ITV’s Love Island, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here Now! and The Xtra Factor. She was also the 12th winner of the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2014.
Prior to presenting, Flack trained in musical theatre.
Chambers has previously appeared in the West End as Jerry Travers in Top Hat, for which he was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
Additional stage credits include Private Lives and White Christmas, whilst TV credits include Casualty, Holby City and Waterloo Road.
Like, Flack, Chamber is another former winner of Strictly Come Dancing having won the show in 2008.
