Mount Cook Adventure Centre, a centre for activity trips, has unveiled Derbyshire’s first rooftop zip wire which will officially open on 7th May.
Mount Cook Adventure Centre, a not-for-profit organisation which allows visitors of all ages to access to outdoor activities, has announced the grand opening of their Rooftop Rider Zip Wire.
About Rooftop Rider Zip Wire
The first of its kind in Derbyshire, the 108-metre-long Zip Wire will start 15 metres off the ground on the centre’s roof and finish in Steeplehouse Quarry. Guests can expect to reach speeds of up to 40 mph.
The Rooftop Rider Zip Wire is a valuable addition to the wealth of outdoor activities available at Mount Cook Adventure Centre, which currently includes a ten-metre-tall high ropes course, an indoor climbing wall, archery tag, bush craft and survival skills, and orienteering.
All activities are designed to develop key skills from team work, to communication.
About Mount Cook Adventure Centre
The centre, which was completed in July 2016, offers groups of all ages the opportunity to experience exciting outdoor activities, set against the backdrop of the Peak District.
The eco building provides accommodation for 140 guests in modern en-suite bedrooms and a further 40 guests in the new wooden glamping pods. Full catering is available.
Co-founder and director, Colin Adams, commented: It’s a brilliant challenge for anyone looking to pioneer beyond their personal boundaries, and experience something different. Guests can also enjoy stunning 360 views of the surrounding Derbyshire countryside from the rooftop.”
