Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic will visit various arenas in 2017 to celebrate a century of Disney.
The show will visit: Braehead Arena in Glasgow and will run from 15th to 19th March 2017; First Direct Arena in Leeds between 22nd and 26th March; The SSE Arena Wembley in London from 29th to 2nd April; Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff between 5th and 9th April; and Genting Arena in Birmingham from 12th to 16th April.
The performances will feature more than 50 Disney stars, a sing-along score of well-known songs, striking choreography, and colourful costumes and sets.
Visitors can watch characters from a range of Disney classics, from Pinocchio to Frozen, from The Ling King to Disney Pixar’s Toy Story.
The collection of Disney melodies includes Hakuna Matata, You’ve Got a friend in Me, A Whole New World, At Last I See the Light and Let It Go.
Choreographers Cindy Stuart and Sarah Kawahara have created choreography that reflects the individuality of the stories while staying true to the legacy of Disney. Among some of the elements included in the shows are Aladdin’s comical Genie displaying tricks and the moves of Mickey and Minnie’s marching band.
Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic will also feature a ‘Fit to Dance’ pre-show. The program, that was launched last year, aims to inspire people to have fun and be active through storytelling and dance.
The program also reflects the creative process used in Disney On Ice shows, where stories are developed by a writing team and then choreographed into dance routines.
The show has been produced by Kenneth Feld and Nicole Feld.
Nicole Feld commented: “Our vision is for audiences everywhere to dance and sing along to their favorite Disney songs, so we’ve included 30 tunes that they know and love.”
