Dreamgirls has already extended its booking period until 6th May 2017 following the first few weeks having already sold out.
Tickets for the extended run are on sale now.
The musical is due to open at the Savoy Theatre on 14th December, with previews taking place in November.
Group rates have already been announced for the show; GTOs booking for groups of 15 or more will pay a discounted rate for tickets.
About Dreamgirls
Dreamgirls focuses on the journey of a young female singing trio from Chicago, Illinois, called The Dreams.
The musical is inspired by the 1960s music scene, and tells the story of the group’s struggles with the show business.
A film adaptation was released in 2006 and starred Beyoncé Knowles, Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx.
Cast and crew
Dreamgirls will star Amber Riley of Glee fame who will play Effie White.
The cast will also include Ibinabo Jack – who has performed in theatre shows such as Legally Blonde, Hot Stuff and Little Shop of Horrors - as Lorrell Robinson, and Liisi LaFontaine as Deena Jones.
Liisi is best known for starring on NBC’s The Winner, of which she was a finalist as part of a singing duo with her mother.
The musical features songs such as I Am Changing, And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going and One Night Only.
The production will be directed and choreographed by award-winning Casey Nicholaw who is known for his directing and choreographing of Something Rotten! and The Drowsy Chaperone.
He also choreographed The Book of Mormon.
