About Dreamgirls
The anticipated musical will premiere on the West End, 35 years after its original Broadway production.
Dreamgirls focuses on the journey of a young female singing trio from Chicago, Illinois, called The Dreams. The musical is inspired by the 1960s music scene, and tells the story of the group’s struggles with show business.
A film adaptation was released in 2006 and starred Beyoncé Knowles, Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx.
Dreamgirls will star Amber Riley of Glee fame who will play Effie White. The musical features songs such as I Am Changing, And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going and One Night Only.
