The first acts for the Norfolk & Norwich Festival (NNF) 2017 have been announced with circus, music, theatre and dance performances confirmed.
Groups visiting the annual festival, which will take place between Friday 12th May and Sunday 28th May in Norwich, will be able to enjoy acts such as Casus, an Australian contemporary circus company; Race Horse Company, a Finnish circus troupe; and Dee Dee Bridgewater, a Grammy and Tony Award winning jazz vocal artist.
Further acts confirmed include the Akram Khan Company, who will fuse dance, storytelling, interactive animation and music in their performance Chotto Desh, which will tell the tale of a young man’s dreams and memories from Britain to Bangladesh. Their performance will take place on Thursday 18th May at Theatre Royal in Norwich.
Theatre company Quarantine will also be performing their show, Summer. Autumn. Winter. Spring., which will look at the human life cycle and our relationship with time.
Finally, a concert centred on the work and influence of Beethoven has been announced for Friday 26th May at St Andrew’s Hall in Norwich.
The full line-up of acts performing at the Norfolk & Norwich Festival is to be announced in the new year.
William Galinksy, the festival’s artistic director, commented: “We are hugely excited to be able to announce some of the first shows for the 2017 festival.
“Next year’s programme continues our commitment to bringing an array of amazing international artists to NNF, as well as presenting some of the most exciting UK companies. We look forward to announcing the full programme in the new year.”
Groups will be able to purchase tickets when they go on sale to the public on Wednesday 9th November.
