The Band

The full cast for the UK Tour of Tim Firth’s new musical, The Band, has been confirmed. 

The musical will feature the music of the popular band Take That and will begin its tour at Manchester Opera House on 8th September.

Casting

It’s been revealed that Emily Joyce will play Heather; her acting credits include The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, Mutual Friends and My Hero. Alison Fitzjohn will play Claire; her recent theatre credits include David Walliams’ Gangster Granny. Jayne McKenna will play Zoe, her acting credits include War Horse and This Happy Breed.

Further casting includes Lauren Jacobs as Young Zoe and Rachelle Diedericks as Debbie – they both will be making their professional debuts in The Band. Martin Miller will play Jeff; his credits include The Revenger’s Tragedy. And Andy Williams will play Dave; his credits include War Horse and Rebecca.

They join the previously announced AJ Bentley, Nick Carsberg, Curtis T Johns, Yazdan Qafouri and Sario Solomon, also known as 5 to 5, winners of the BBC’s Let It Shine, as ‘The Band’ alongside Rachel Lumberg as Rachel and Faye Christall as Young Rachel. 

Synopsis: The Band

The Band is a new musical about what it’s like to grow up following a boyband. For five 16 year-old friends in 1992, ‘the band’ is everything. 25 years on, we are reunited with the group of friends, now 40-something women, as they try once more to fulfil their dream of meeting their heroes.
