Groups Invited To Ghostly Gaslight Halloween Night This October %7C Group Travel News

Blists Hill Victorian Town is running a Ghostly Gaslight Halloween night on 29th October – and groups are invited.

Groups are encouraged to don their scary costumes to attend the event at Blists Hill Victorian Town, where the streets, shops and houses will be transformed into an eerie world filled with ‘ghosts, ghouls and monsters’.

Buildings will be illuminated and fireworks and pyrotechnic effects will take place throughout the evening, too.

Historic monuments and buildings will be lit up with bright colours and frightening effects, followed by a fireworks display in front of the old Brick and Tile Works.

There will also be spooky encounters taking place throughout the evening, such as a wicked wizard casting spells, a local carpenter searching for victims to nail in his coffin, ghostly apparitions in the windows of the cottages and zombies looking for brains.

About Blists Hill Victorian Town

This recreated Victorian Town is one of ten museums at Ironbridge Gorge. It recreates the sights, smells and sounds of a Victorian Shropshire town in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The open-air museum features a town area, ironworks area and a countryside area. The countryside area demonstrates an industrial landscape, and includes re-erected buildings such as a squatter cottage, a toll house and an iron tin tabernacle, which is a building made from corrugated galvanised iron.

The town area also includes a fish and chip shop and a bakery serving food, and an old sweetshop.

Group offers

Groups of 15 or more can save ten per cent, and coaches will be able to drop off visitors at Blists Hall before driving to the nearby coach park.

The event takes place between 6pm and 9pm, with Blists Hill Victorian Town Hall closing early at 3pm for preparations.
