Groups sailing with Holland America will be able to sample local delicacies as part of its 20 new onshore food and wine excursions in destinations including Bangkok and Massachusetts.
The new tours follow the 23 excursions that were debuted earlier this year on cruises in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, expanding throughout Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
The excursions will give guests the chance to participate in cooking classes run by top restaurant chefs, go on culinary walking tours and visit wineries. The trips will also offer opportunities to sample authentic street food and stop in at local hidden cookery gems.
Orlando Ashford, president of Holland America Line, said: “We’ve expanded our exclusive FOOD & WINE tours due to their overwhelming popularity, as food is a universal language that connects travellers with the cultures they visit in a deeply immersive way.
“We’re excited to add this special tour schedule in several new locations so our guests can discover the diverse flavours of the many different places we visit through these unique and authentic experiences.”
Holland America Line has plans to continue to expand its FOOD & WINE tours over the next year. The expansion will see the company launch tours in new destinations including Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii, among others.
