Drayton Manor Theme Park in Staffordshire has revealed plans for the opening of a new ride this April, called James and the Red Balloon.
The new ride will be built in Drayton Manor’s Thomas Land, which is dedicated to Thomas the Tank Engine and designed for children.
The new ride will join 12 other Thomas-themed rides, a indoor play area, and a shop filled with Thomas & Friends™ merchandise.
James and the Red Balloon will be based on one of the Thomas and Friends characters, James, and his antics with a hot air balloon.
Passengers will sit in their own balloon carriage and enjoy extensive views of the park from the ride’s highest points.
William Bryan, managing director at Drayton Manor Theme Park, said: “We’re all really looking forward to welcoming our visitors for the new season and unveiling this fantastic addition to Thomas Land.
“Our staff have been working so hard to ensure the season starts successfully and we can’t wait to open our gates to welcome new and existing visitors for a fun and memorable day out.”
Drayton Manor; suitable for all
There is something for all ages at Drayton Manor, with Thomas Land aimed at younger visitors and the rest of the park more suited for adults.
There are a range of ride for those with different tastes, including Apocalypse and G-Force for those thrill seekers amongst your group, and gentle rides such as Buffalo Coaster and the Flying Dutchman for those with less of a penchant for adrenaline.
Additionally, there is a 15 acre zoo which this year will be introducing a host of new animals including red panda, Sulawesi crested Macaques, and bearded lizards.
Special rates are available for groups with 12 or more members.
