Experienced travel journalist and well-known TV presenter and actress, Julie Peasgood has joined the writing team at Group Leisure & Travel with a brand new monthly column.
To coincide with the magazine’s new name and fresh design layout, the June issue will also include Julie’s first column.
Julie Peasgood has had a multi-faceted career as an accomplished actress and TV presenter, an award-winning author, travel writer and columnist, a leading voice-over artist and a popular public speaker and events host.
Honoured by the Royal Television Society with the Television Personality of the Year Award, Julie’s television career has spanned over 40 years. She is best known for her roles in Brookside, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks and is currently co-producing and hosting her fourth series of Crafty Beggars In The House!
Her travel presenting began with ITV’s Wish You Were Here…?, and her own travel show The Great Escape on LBC. She presented Great Little Breaks on ITV, Hot Zones and Cruise Today for the Travel Channel and also wrote, directed and presented A Buyer’s Guide to Spain.
On joining the regular writing team, Julie said: “I’m thrilled to be writing for Group Leisure & Travel magazine, having met Rob and the team when I spoke at the buzzing GLTS last October. Organising a birthday weekend in Brighton for my daughter and a dozen of her friends a few years ago, gave me an insight into what’s involved in arranging even a relatively modest trip. So I now have considerable respect for the work of GTOs and hope that in this column I can share with you some ideas, tips and inspiration from my experience as a travel presenter and journalist.”
Julie has travelled on 63 cruises to date, as a journalist, presenter and onboard speaker.
An award-winning author, Julie writes about travel for The Mail on Sunday, The Sunday Mirror and The Telegraph. For the last four years she has had a regular column Destinations on your Doorstep in Magnet magazine, a monthly double-page spread in Crafts Beautiful and is Contributing Editor to Cruise International magazine.
Group Leisure & Travel’s publisher, Rob Yandell commented: “The new column will share some brilliant ideas and tips for all types of group trips and holidays, at home and abroad. Visitors to last year’s Group Leisure & Travel Show loved Julie’s talk; she is bursting with ideas and has so much to share with our readers. I know they are going to enjoy the column and we’re delighted to have her as part of our writing team.”
You can read Julie’s column in Group Leisure & Travel magazine. In additional to its postal circulation, it is available online as an e-magazine at www.groupleisure.com/emag.
