Tornado

Just Go Holidays, provider of group tours and holidays in the UK, has launched three new steam train breaks for 2018, including rides on The Royal Scot and the Tornado, plus a trip around Ireland's historic railways.

Three new journeys on a steam train pulled by the No. 60163 locomotive Tornado are now available to book. The trips, which all take place on scenic railways within Yorkshire and the east of England, include:

Tornado Steam Train – North Yorkshire Moors Railway: A two-day break, including the 75-minute train trip through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, from Grosmont to Pickering and back, with time to look around the heritage-themed stations.

Tornado Steam Train – North Yorkshire Moors Railway & York: A three-day holiday, featuring the same trip as above with the addition of a trip to York, where attractions include York Minster, the cobbled streets of the Shambles and the city walls.

Tornado Steam Train & Classic Cambridge: A three-day holiday, including a 75-minute train ride on the scenic Nene Valley Railway, on a round-trip from Wansford to Peterborough. Plus, there will be a trip to Cambridge, with highlights such as punting along the River Cam.

More in Yorkshire and Ireland

Group travel organisers can also opt for a ride on board The Royal Scot on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway in June. The 80-minute trip will pass through the wild and rugged moors of Brontë country on a nostalgic route that appeared in the iconic 1970s film, The Railway Children.

The final new offering is a Southern Ireland Steam Train Adventure; an eight-day rail tour around the Emerald Isle, which has a departure date of 2nd September 2018. The trip includes three journeys by heritage steam train, interspersed with free days and optional excursions to explore more of the country.
