Highlights of the Land Tours will be culinary and nature-based activities and will involve visits to the Dalmatian Coast, Venice, Zagreb and Slovenia.
Croatian cruise line company, Katarina Line, has reported a growing interest in soft adventure and culinary vacations, and in response announced enhancements to some of its itineraries.
In particular, the company’s Harmony and Rhapsody Land Tours, said to be two of its most popular trips, will highlight new experiential activities for 2018.
Nature, history and foodie themes
The eight-night, four-country Harmony tour emphasises natural attractions and historical destinations in Italy, Slovenia, Austria, and Croatia, taking guests from the lagoons of Venice to Diocletian's Palace in Split on Croatia's Dalmatian coast.
Activities include a guided tour of the Slovenian resort town of Bled and a boat ride on its namesake lake, as well as a tour of Klagenfurt, the capital city of the southern Austrian province of Carinthia.
The eight-night Rhapsody tour offers a ‘taste of Croatia’ and will take guests on a gastronomic journey from the north-western capital of Zagreb to the southern-most city of Dubrovnik, introducing them to Croatian style Tapas, and Pašticada, a traditional Dalmatian dish.
In addition to numerous guided tours of picturesque towns from the north of Croatia to the south, the tour features experiences that include a wine tasting at the Bibich Winery, a main Dalmatian wine producer, where guests will be treated to Dalmatian Debit white wine, Cuvee Shiraz and Merlot.
These itineraries are also customisable, and Katarina Line works with travel agents to design unique programs to meet the special requirements and interests of groups. These can include a combination of land and cruise vacations.
