Kittywake Canal Cruises, based at Wigan Pier on the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, recently unveiled a new cruise service dedicated exclusively to groups.
Run by the Carrington family, the new service offers the choice of two traditional wide beam canal barges for groups.
The Kittywake barges can be enjoyed both privately and publicly, and groups have the choice to do either. Larger groups (of up to 41) are recommended to hire privately for a cheaper price.
A number of dining options are available also, including afternoon tea, hot pot, and an Indian menu. On the latter, groups can enjoy a starter, a side and a main for a set price.
There are also a number of buffet options available, including a finger buffet of assorted sandwiches, sausage rolls and crisps, and an executive buffet of sliced meats and pies.
In addition, GTOS can book a history talk which covers history, heritage and the natural canal surroundings with a Kittywake historian for an extra charge.
Groups can also book to enjoy a Lock Working Experience, during which guests onboard can experience operating the locks under the supervision of the crew.
Parties can expect a meet and greet service when boarding the boat, and there are also VIP options available such as drinks receptions and even a red carpet.
Sandi Carrington of Kittywake Cruises said: “We discovered that many groups have shown an interest in taking a cruise with us. So we have extended our welcome to coach parties, groups visiting Lancashire and to those organisations that would like to have a very memorable tour of the historic canal with regard to its fascinating past, scenic views and nature too.”
