The Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh will host the Knitting & Stitching Show from 28th April to 1st May.
The show encompasses four days of workshops, demonstrations and interactive features covering many aspects of textile craft, ideal for groups who enjoy learning something creative.
The Knitting & Stitching Show will cover a variety of skills from dressmaking and embroidery to lacemaking, beadwork, spinning and dying.
Visitors can also learn about patchwork, quilting, knitting and crochet, as well as felt making, tapestry creation and home furnishings.
Textile galleries
The show will present eight professionally curated textile galleries where artists will include Edinburgh-based tapestry artist Fiona Rutherford and Glasgow-based printed textile artist and designer Joanna Kinnersly-Taylor.
Other artists due to display work include Aberdeen-based patchwork and quilter Hanne Asbey, and textile artist and painter Michala Gyetvai.
The Creative Living Theatre will be offering free demonstrations on a wide array of different textile projects, so visitors can watch products being used live.
And those who are after supplies will find over 200 exhibitors at the show, selling everything from sewing machines and knitting supplies to yarn and material.
Workshops for smaller groups
There are a variety of workshops taking place throughout Knitting & Stitching Show. Most of these are available for bookings of up to 16 people, so are more suitable for smaller groups.
Examples of workshops include Drawing and Painting with Wool; Woven Tapestry: Working with Different Materials; Paint Your Own Threads for Stitching; and Learn to Crochet for Beginners.
The Dressmaking Studio will also have a team of experts on hand to explain some of the basics of dressmaking, from buttonholes, hems and seam finishing to zip insertion and understanding patterns.
GTOs will receive discounted rates for workshops when booking for parties of ten or more, and are advised to book in advance.
