Described as a very British comedy musical, Rumpy Pumpy! will star Linda Nolan and Louise Jameson when it runs in London and Windsor this November.
The production will run at the Theatre Royal, Windsor from 1st to 5th November, and the Union Theatre in London from 14th to 19th November.
Linda Nolan, of The Nolans fame, and Eastender’s Louise Jameson will star as the main characters, Jean Johnson and Shirley Landels. Further casting is yet to be announced.
Synopsis
Rumpy Pumpy! is based on the true story of two genteel ladies from the Hampshire Women’s Institute who take it upon themselves to campaign for better conditions for working girls.
Audiences will follow the funny and chaotic story of Jean Johnson and Shirley Landels as they decide to campaign for the decriminalisation of prostitution and to improve conditions for prostitutes.
A true story, Rumpy! Pumpy!, with book, music and lyrics by Barbara Jane Mackie, is directed by Simon Grieff.
Linda Nolan and Louise Jameson
Linda Nolan is an Irish-born singer based in Blackpool. She is perhaps best known as a member of the girl group The Nolans from the 1970s and early 1980s, along with her sisters Anne, Denise, Maureen, Bernie and Coleen. Linda Nolan has also starred as Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers in the West End.
Louise Jameson, meanwhile, is an English actress, with a variety of British TV and theatre credits. She is best known for her appearances in British TV series EastEnders, Doctor Who, Bergerac, and Tenko. Her theatre credits include The Mousetrap’s 60th anniversary UK tour.
