Groups of ten or more can now save on train, bus and tram travel in the capital by purchasing a London Group Day Travelcard when navigating the city.
Group Day Travelcards are off-peak tickets that can be used from 9.30am from Monday to Friday, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Groups must use the travel cards on the date printed on the ticket, and for any journey that starts before 4.30am the following day.
The cards cost £8 each and are valid for groups of ten or more people, who must be travelling together at all times on the date printed on the ticket.
The £8 travel cards apply to:
• Zones 1-6 on the Tube
• DLR
• London Overground
• TfL Rail
• Most National Rail services
• London bus services
• Trams
Tickets can be purchased online to be delivered, or can be bought in London from ticket machines at Tube stations or from London Overground and TfL rail station ticket offices.
The paper tickets can also be purchased at some National Rail stations that Tube and London Overground services run through.
Ideas for itineraries in London
For fans of horticulture: Begin a trip to London with a visit to Kew Gardens, followed by lunch at one of the many cafes at Kensington Palace. Groups could then go to Regent’s Park, where they can spend the afternoon exploring the grounds before seeing a show at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
For fans of learning about history: Those with a passion for history could begin their day at the Natural History Museum, before travelling past Hyde Park to visit the British Museum. Then head onto Saint Kathrine Docks where visitors can take a lesson in history during dinner with The Medieval Banquet.
