Melton Mowbray Food Festival is set to return for its 13th year this October.
Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the foodie festival, which will take place between 1st and 2nd October and will showcase some of the UK’s best locally produced food and drinks.
The Melton Mowbray Food Festival is considered to be one of the UK’s largest regional food festivals and is held at the covered Cattle Market in Melton Mowbray.
As well as sampling the traditional and local specialities of Stilton cheese and Melton Mowbray pork pies, visitors will be able to taste and buy food and delicacies from across the UK and around the world.
Both UK and international street food will be available in a special catering area.
There will also be a professional food theatre where visitors can enjoy a full programme of talks and demonstrations, and entertainment will be provided by the New St George Morris dancers and the Melstrum Ukulele Band.
Matthew O’Callaghan from the Melton Mowbray Food Partnership commented, “Last year’s food festival was a roaring success with many favourite producers returning, as well as new exhibitors offering something new to the several thousand people who visited and enjoyed the event.
“We’re confident that this year will prove to be bigger and better, and that people will take the opportunity to sample and buy some of the best tasting local produce in the country.”
The festival is organised by the Melton Mowbray Food Partnership with main sponsorship from Samworth Brothers and the support of the Melton Mowbray Market.
Tickets are £6 or £5 in advance and the festival will run between 10am and 5pm on the Saturday, and 10am and 4pm on the Sunday.
