New Brighton in Merseyside has revealed details for a brand new event for 2017 called the New Brighton Seaside Festival.
The festival will run over the spring Bank Holiday weekend from Saturday 27th to Monday 29th May.
The inaugural festival will offer a diverse programme of live entertainment, food and drink and seaside-themed attractions in front of Fort Perch Rock, New Brighton Beach, Marine Lake and the Promenade in New Brighton.
Recently announced performers include folk trio Button Street Badger Band, the Liverpool-based group The Ship Builders and the alt-pop songstress Eleanor Kelly. Local favourite Marc Kenny and the Sing Me Merseyside Choir will also be performing on the main stage on Monday 29th May.
As well as music, groups will be able to enjoy taking their pick from a number of street food traders, such as Holy Crab, Little Furnace and Camp Halloumi.
Cookery demos by Wirral chefs and brands such as Burnt Truffle will also make the New Brighton Seaside Festival a popular choice for foodies.
A gin garden and undercover seating area where groups will be able to sample local craft beer or take a cocktail class will also form part of the event, as will an artisan market selling arts and crafts, from homemade jewelleries to homeware and trinkets.
Meanwhile for groups with families, a full children’s activity programme will be taking place each day, including a vintage funfair, Punch and Judy style puppet shows and workshops run by Junior Chef’s Academy.
The festival, which is being organised by Orb Events that also runs festivals including Liverpool Loves, Liverpool Pride and Farm Feast, will begin at 10am each day across the Bank Holiday weekend.
The full programme of activities will be announced shortly.
