Chocolatier experience

Cadbury World in Birmingham is launching a new Chocolatier Experience to give groups the opportunity to find out what it’s like to work as a chocolatier.

The new workshops, which launch on 11th June, are two hours long. GTOs are advised to book in advance.

What do chocolatiers do?

The Chocolatier Experience features a hands-on lesson in the art of chocolate making. Groups will learn about the history and science behind it, and taste dark, milk and white chocolate to better understand the processes used to create each variety.

Chocolatiers-in-training will also learn the tips and techniques for tempering chocolate ready for moulding, before putting their newfound skills into practice by preparing and filling their own set of individual chocolates.

Also included in the session is the opportunity to learn hand-decorating skills, like drawing chocolate patterns and handwriting with chocolate.

This will be followed by making chocolate shoes and testing out the newly-learned skills to create personal designs on them.

The session will end with novice chocolatiers taking their moulded chocolates and hand-decorated chocolate shoes home.

Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World, said: “We wanted to give our visitors something brand new to look forward to in 2016, and launching our unique Chocolatier Experience was the perfect way to spread the joy of Cadbury even further. We’re sure it will be incredibly popular, and we can’t wait to see budding chocolatiers in action!”
