Emerald Waterways is making waves across the Asian river cruise market with its first ship on the Mekong River, Emerald Harmony.
The new vessel will have many of the features seen on the cruise line’s generation of European Star-Ships, launched in 2013, such as the panorama suites featuring drop-down windows.
Starting next August, groups can choose from three itineraries on board Emerald Harmony, in Vietnam and Cambodia.
Unlike most similar sized Mekong river ships, Emerald Harmony will be able to access the centre of Ho Chi Minh City, meaning guests will not be required to be coached in from outside the city.
The ship joins Emerald Waterways’ fleet of 11 ships sailing throughout Europe and further afield, plus two luxury yachts navigating the Dalmatian coast.
Luxury experience
Emerald Harmony, will include Emerald Waterways’ signature pool, an Asian-themed Horizon Bar & Lounge with luxurious soft furnishings.
The Reflections Restaurant will have a locally-inspired menu showcasing native cuisines from the region.
New and exclusive to Emerald Harmony is the Lotus Lounge, situated at the back of the ship, which will feature comfortable seating with low, small tables.
Dawn Quinn, head of UK Trade Sales for the cruise line, said: “Emerald Harmony is an exciting and luxurious addition to the Emerald Waterways’ Star-Ship fleet, setting sail in 2019 with three brand new itineraries.
“We are looking forward to working with our trade partners to promote the newest Star-Ship, which will bring the innovative features and impressive inclusions that the brand offers on board European river cruises to the Mekong.”
Cruise holidays
The three itineraries being offered for 2019 are:
• A 15-day Majestic Mekong river cruise and tour, taking in Ho Chi Ming City to Siem Reap.
• A 19-day Treasures & Temples of Vietnam & Cambodia river cruise and tour, from Hanoi to Siem Reap
• A 23-day Grand Tour of Vietnam & Cambodia river cruise and tour, which includes stops at Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hoi An, Hue and Siem Reap.
On-board accommodation is similar to Emerald Waterways’ European Star-Ships, with four lead-in Emerald Staterooms, 32 Panorama Balcony Suites, four Grand Balcony Suites and two Owner’s Suites, each boasting a wrap-around terrace featuring a hot tub.
Groups can receive special benefits, including one person in 10 going free of charge on the cruise itself (terms and conditions apply).
