Oxford Official Guided Walking Tours has launched a new Modern Architecture tour for next summer.
This will allow groups to explore Oxford on foot whilst observing 20th and 21st century buildings in the process.
Oxford is filled with modern buildings, from the Middle Eastern Centre designed by controversial architect Zaha Habid, to the Blavatnik School of Governance designed by Herzog and the Meuron.
This new tour will visit the north part of the city where many of these jewels stand, and the route can be customised for larger groups.
Oxford Official Guided Walking tours also offers private tours that can be tailor-made for groups.
Other tours that are available now include the Inspector Morse Tour, the Oxford Film Sites Tour and the Magic, Murder and Mayhem Tour.
The Oxford Film Sites Tour for example, visits recognisable film and TV drama locations around Oxford.
Guests can see the backdrop for films such as X-Men: First Class and The Golden Compass as they hear about the links with some of the biggest names in cinematic history.
The Magic, Murder and Mayhem tour tells the story of the secret societies, alchemists, martyrs, traitors, rogues and criminals in the city, and will allow groups to discover one of the world’s largest collections of amulets, talismans and magical objects.
Groups can also book onto a tour with an exclusive afternoon tea in a University College. The tour will end with the afternoon tea, which will include a selection of finger sandwiches, scones with strawberry preserve and clotted cream, homemade cake, plus tea or coffee served in a traditional college dining hall.
