Summer Holiday, a 1960s film featuring the classic hits of singer Cliff Richard, has been adapted for stage and is set to tour the UK during 2018 and 2019.
The show will begin its tour on 8th May 2018 at Liverpool Empire. Tickets for Summer Holiday are on sale now and casting is to be announced soon.
Synopsis: Summer Holiday
Summer Holiday tells the story of Don and his fellow London Transport mechanics as they journey together in a red double-decker bus through Paris, the Alps, Italy and Greece. Along the way they pick up a girl group and a young American pop star who is on the run from her domineering mother.
The iconic 1960s film by the same title starred Cliff Richard and The Shadows. The new musical will include a number of hits from the film plus some additional classics from Cliff Richard, as well as many of 1960’s biggest songs including In the Country, Summer Holiday, Travellin’ Light, Bachelor Boy, Move It, Living Doll, The Young Ones and On the Beach.
The stage adaptation is by Michael Gyngell and Mark Haddigan. It is being directed and choreographed by Racky Plews.
