The brand new theatre, Storyhouse, in Chester, has announced its autumn season of shows, which will include Blood Brothers and Footloose.
The Storyhouse is a £37 million theatre, cinema and library in Chester, and will have a number of shows and performances visit during the autumn months.
The programme includes musicals, international drama, stand-up comedy, dance and opera.
A touring theatre programme
The West End hit, Footloose, will open the autumn theatre season from 5th to 9th September, followed by Blood Brothers, starring Maureen Nolan, running from 9th to 14th October.
The sound of Buenos Aires will come to the Storyhouse on 18th October from the quartet Tango Siempre with their hit show Tangomotion, followed by BalletBoyz’ new show on 30th October.
Also confirmed for the season is the critically acclaimed drama Things I Know to be True, which will run between 7th and 11th November.
Comedians set to come to the new theatre will include Stewart Lee of BBC 2’s Comedy Vehicle with his new show Content Provider and 8 of 10 Cats does Countdown regular Jon Richardson, on 3rd October and 19th September.
Spamalot! the comedy musical inspired by the comedy legends Monty Python will also run from 31st October to 4th November.
Other shows included in the autumn line-up will be Brassed Off, All or Nothing, and performances from musician Kate Rusby.
Artistic director of Storyhouse, Alex Clifton, said: “We are delighted with the range of our opening touring season. This is a programme that tells stories in so many guises: through dance, music, comedy and drama.”

Storyhouse will open its doors for the summer season on 11th May with a home-produced season which includes a brand new version of The Beggar’s Opera, Alice in Wonderland, and Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Julius Caesar, before it starts its autumn season.
