Production company Selladoor has announced that its family adventure panto Peter Pan will be shown at Blackpool Opera House from 16th December until 7th January.
Spectators will join Peter Pan, the ‘boy who never grew up’, and siblings Wendy, John and Michael, as they take on Captain Hook and the band of merry pirates in the battle for Neverland.
About the cast
Stage and TV star Jennifer Ellison will lead the show’s cast as a female Captain Hook, alongside former X Factor singer Jake Quickenden who will hold the title role of Peter Pan.
Ellison played Meg Giry in the 2004 adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Joel Schumacher for Warner Bros. She has also been a regular on-screen with film and TV credits, including The Cottage, Hotel Babylon, The Verdict, New Street Law, and The Brief.
Ellison has also appeared on the West End stage in Chicago, Boeing Boeing, Singin’ in the Rain, and Calendar Girls.
The title role of Peter Pan will be Quickenden’s first acting role, as he was first seen as an X Factor contestant in 2012 and 2014. Following the TV show, Quickenden went on to present Chart Show Dance and Chart Show TV, while in 2015 he joined reality TV show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, where he was the runner-up. He is also a co-presenter on Lorraine’s Morning TV Show at ITV.
