Swiss Garden

The Swiss Garden will put on a summer season of group-friendly events, including a Mad Hatters festival, picnics on the grass, and open air musical performances.

On 1st May, groups can enjoy making crafts, storytelling and maypole dancing at a Mad Hatters May Day Festival.

Running between 11.30am and 4.30pm, the festival offers visitors a chance to dress up in Alice in Wonderland themed outfits, and enjoy a picnic outside. Hampers are available to prebook and there are entry discounts for parties of ten or more.

A Manor House String Quartet Evening will run from 7.30pm on 11th June; this is a classical concert on the theme of music for a summer’s evening.

Guests are welcome to bring their own picnics and chairs. Tea, coffee and snacks will be available to purchase on the night in the garden room. Discounted rates are available for over ten people in a group.

In similar fashion on 25th July, groups will be able to dine outside on picnic nibbles when Chapterhouse Theatre Company presents A Midsummers Night’s Dream.

The summer garden theatre production will encompass magical forests, fairies, a band of travelling players and star crossed lovers, typical of the Shakespeare play. The performance starts at 7pm, and discounts are available for groups.

And groups who can’t get enough of outdoor theatre can also visit the Swiss Garden to watch Peter Pan on 25th August.

Chapterhouse Theatre Company will present the story of Peter Pan, the boy who wouldn’t grow up.

It’s suitable for all ages, and GTOs who organise for groups with young families might find this a great evening activity to organise for the summer. Discounts apply to groups of ten or more.
