The cruise line believes 2020 will be its best season yet, with announcements of a new ship and new voyages allowing it to increase its capacity.

Princess Cruises 2020 voyages

For the first time, Princess Cruises will have three ships sailing a full season from Southampton, meaning that 2020 will see the cruise line offering 1.4 million cruise nights from the UK.

Three of Princess Cruises’ newest ships – Enhanced Princess, Sky Princess and Regal Princess – will all be based in Europe during the season.

Tony Roberts, vice president Princess Cruises UK and Europe, said: “Europe remains the most popular holiday destination for our UK guests so we’re delighted to offer more choice than ever before in 2020.”

The announcement forms part of Princess Cruises’ 2020 programme, which includes sailings across Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, Alaska, Canada and New England.

New ships and voyages

The Crown Princess will sail from May to November as part of a series of new voyages to the Mediterranean, Canary Islands and northern Europe. Prior to its UK season, the ship will also set sail on a number of shorter fly-Mediterranean cruises in April and May.

Highlights from its new voyages including an eight-day Norwegian Fjords voyage, a 13-day summer cruise to destinations including Florence, Rome and Barcelona in August and a four-day sailing to Rotterdam and the Channel islands.

Island Princess will follow a similar schedule, embarking on a series of new sailings including a 12-day Northern Capitals Cruise taking in cities such as Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Paris, as well as a 14-day Scandinavia and Russia Collection cruise and a 32-day cruise to New York, among others.

Meanwhile, the cruise line’s newest ship, Enchanted Princess, will hold its naming ceremony in Southampton in late June before heading to the Mediterranean for the summer.

From May to September, Regal Princess will spend the season based in the UK and will offer cruises of the British Isles, heading to destinations such as Liverpool, Dublin, Belfast and Edinburgh.

Similarly, the Sky Princess will remain in Europe, with a spring and summer season spent covering Scandinavia and Russia.
