The Russian State Ballet of Siberia will return to the UK next year for its 15th UK tour.
Five of the world’s most popular ballets – Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Giselle, Coppélia and La Fille Mal Gardée – will be performed at venues across the UK from the beginning of January to the end of February.
The 17 venue tour will begin with The Nutcracker at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on 3rd January, before moving to Buxton Opera House, Portsmouth Guildhall and Brighton Theatre Royal, for performances of The Nutcracker and Swan Lake.
Groups wanting to see Coppélia can books tickets at the Grand Theatre in Blackpool, The Anvil in Basingstoke and the Theatre Royal in Norwich, amongst others.
Giselle will be performed at Liverpool Empire Theatre and De Montfort Hall in Leicester, whilst La Fille Mal Gardée will be performed at venues including Wimbledon New Theatre, Festival Theatre in Malvern and Regent Theatre in Ipswich.
The ballets
Swan Lake: A tale of tragic romance, Swan Lake is said to be the greatest romantic ballet of all time, brought to life by Tchaikovsky’s haunting score.
The Nutcracker: A tale of a fairy tale world where nothing is quite as it seems.
La Fille Mal Gardée: A gentle tale of love thwarted, unrequited and found, La Fille Mal Gardée is a masterpiece of comedy.
Coppélia: A light-hearted tale of mistaken identity and confused lovers follows mischievous Swanilda, her impetuous suitor Franz and the eccentric toymaker Dr.Coppelius.
Giselle: A chilling and heart-rending tale of love, treachery and forgiveness from beyond the grave.
Each storyline will unfold to the live accompaniment of The Orchestra of the Russian State Ballet.
