The Russian State Ballet of Siberia is returning for its 18th UK tour from January to March 2020, featuring performances of four of the world’s most popular ballets.
Having built a reputation for delivering exceptional performances across the globe, Russia’s acclaimed ballet is returning to the UK where it promises to immerse audiences into the most well-known ballet stories throughout history.
Accompanied by The Orchestra of the Russian State Ballet, the tour in 2020 is ideal for groups with an interest in ballet, music, dance and production.
The list of performances for audiences to choose from include Coppélia, the charming comedy set in a doll maker’s workshop; Sleeping Beauty, a childhood favourite fairy-tale; Swan Lake, famous for Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score, and The Nutcracker, the fantasy ballet that falls on Christmas Eve.
The productions will merge the traditional and digital worlds using imaginative staging and special effects which, alongside the company’s 40 dancers and 30 musicians, bring the story to life. The orchestra will play a range of classical and modern scores from the likes of Tchaikovsky to Disney composer George Bruns.
Artistic Director Sergei Bobrov said: “It is very special to have the power of a symphony orchestra bringing the choreography to life on stage.”
Performing at 22 venues across the UK, throughout the North, South, Midlands and London, there is a wide range of locations for groups to choose from and there will be afternoon and evening performances.
