2017 dates have been announced for the second Women’s Institute Fair; the event will run from 29th March to 1st April.
The fair will be held at Alexandra Palace in London, and celebrate crafts, creativity, shopping and education, all related to the Women’s Institute (W.I).
The event is said to aim to inspire women, so is suitable for female-majority groups. W.I members and non-members alike are welcome.
What can groups do at the fair?
Over 300 exhibitors have been confirmed for the fair. Travel-related companies that will be present include Chatsworth Estate and City and Village Tours, while retail companies will include Elegance Natural Skin Care, Imagination Chocolates and The Book People.
A food market will be at the fair, as will a Live Kitchen Theatre. Visitors will be able to watch an array of cooking and baking professionals in action, learn tricks of the trade, and take tips and ideas home.
The Live Kitchen Theatre is free to enter, and seats are available on a first come, first served basis. A full programme will be announced closer to the time.
A number of craft workshops will also take place across the four days. The hands-on sessions are available for small groups, and will provide an opportunity for participants to try something totally new or improve on an existing skill.
Visitors are advised to book workshops in advance through the box office.
A Designer/Makers Village, where groups can see live craft demonstrations, a Craft Theatre for learning new skills, and a Travel and Outdoors Theatre for holiday-inspiration are further fair highlights.
The show will also host a Women’s Institute stand where visitors will be able to meet W.I members and learn more about the institute and its achievements.
