Summary
Shirley Valentine follows the story of housewife Shirley who is tired of her mundane life, where her children have left home and her husband pays her no attention.
So when Shirley’s best friend offers her the chance to go on holiday to Greece for a couple of weeks, she packs her bags in secret. Audiences will follow Shirley in an unexpected discovery of herself, and a rekindling of her childhood dreams and youthful love of life.
Shirley will be played by Jodie Prenger, who is best known for winning the role of Nancy in the West End production of Oliver! through the BBC television series I’d Do Anything.
More recently, Prenger toured the UK in the musical Tell Me On A Sunday, as well as playing the title role in Calamity Jane.
