Tickets and group bookings are on sale for shows in Shuttleworth’s 2025 air show calender including the flying proms and ‘Festival of Flight’ events.
Shuttleworth in Bedfordshire has announced its 2025 air show calender and GTOs can take advantage of group bookings, discounted early bird prices and free coach parking.
Next year will see further format updates with traditional Sunday shows opening and closing the season, and daytime and evening split flying displays over three Saturday events, offering visitors the chance to experience evening flying against the backdrop of the setting sun.
Marc Boult, head of visitor operations, said: “Building on the achievements of our 2024 season, we’re excited to announce this new season of air shows for 2025. We are delighted that our visitors have so warmly embraced our new show formats, and we will continue to provide a visitor experience that is second-to-none in its entertainment offer and affordability. We are proud to often be referred to as the best kept secret in Bedford, but now’s the time to let the secret out!”
Air shows will begin on Sunday 11th May 2025, starting with the Season Premiere Air Show. Race day will round off the season on Sunday, October 5th, 2025.
- Season Premiere Air Show, 11th May, 2025 (flying 2pm and 6pm) - The working collection of vintage aircraft will take to the skies above Old Warden aerodrome.
- Military Air Show, 31st May, 2025 (flying 2-5.30pm and 7.30-8.30pm) - This show specifically celebrates all of those who have given their service on land, in the air, and at sea.
- Festival of Flight, 28th and 29th June, 2025 (flying 2-5.30pm and 8-9pm both days) - Shuttleworth’s biggest event of the year offers two fully packed days of family entertainment, including ground entertainment, around the split flying air displays.
- Summer Air Show, 26th July, 2025 (flying 2-5.30pm and 7.30-8.30pm) - Visitors can soak up the warmth of the summer whilst taking in aerial displays.
- Flying Proms, 16th June, 2025 - Aerial display choreographed to live music from a symphony orchestra with pyrotechnics. Following the display, visitors can enjoy fireworks and music.
- Best of British Air Show, 30th August, 2025 (flying 2-5.30pm and 7-8pm) - Watch the achievements of aviation and automation in Great Britain.
- Race Day, 5th October 2025 (flying 2-6pm) - High-speed sprint demonstrations, both on the ground and in the air.
For group visits coach parking is free and drivers can enter the show free or charge. Access for coaches is via their own exclusive gate so no queuing is required.
