Ramblers Worldwide has released details of its new 16 day walking itinerary, South Korean Discovery.
The experience includes a tour around what is often considered to be the relatively unknown country of South Korea, with visits to national parks, diverse landscapes and cultural heritage sites.
Highlights of the itinerary include the busy cities of Seoul, Busan and Gyeongju, walking in the Seoraksan and Yudealsan National Parks, visiting the Bo Seong Tea Plantation and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Seokguram Grotto, which is famed for its white granite Buddha.
The itinerary
The journey begins in Seoul where groups will discover more about the history of the city and visit its markets to experience local life.
From there, they will travel west to Seoraksan National Park, to walk through high peaks and hardwood forests, and continue down the coast to Mokpo for a visit to Yudaslan National Park.
Next, a coastal cruise amongst the islands in the Dadohaesang National Park will be on the cards, followed by tea at a tea plantation.
This will be followed by a visit to the region of Gyeongju and, more specifically, the Seokguram Grotto.
Two nights will then be spent in Bussan for some free time and sightseeing, before the final night in Seoul.
Further information
The price of the tour includes return flights, transfers, half board accommodation, local transport costs and entrance fees, an English speaking guide and the services of a dedicated tour leader.
The first departures for the South Korean Discovery tour will be on the 20th September 2016.
