Star Clippers is offering 19 themed sailings next year onboard the company’s three tall ships, ranging in topic from cookery and fashion to creative writing and yoga.
The cruises will head to Thailand, Indonesia, the Caribbean and Mediterranean, and guest speakers will include yoga instructors, wine experts, chefs and life coaches. Two new sailings are confirmed to include lectures on creative writing and journalism.
The guest speakers and practitioners will be hosting lectures, yoga and fitness sessions on board the line’s three sailing vessels between May and November. Yoga takes place morning and evening on the open decks, while guest chefs and sommeliers will join Star Clippers’ culinary team to prepare regional specialities at meal times.
Other speakers will engage guests in presentations that include meditation, life coaching, creative writing, journalism and fashion.
All presentations and activities are complimentary for guests and take place during varied sailing itineraries on board the fully crewed ships, with the backdrop of full-rigged, historically styled sailing ships.
Themed sailings will include Western Mediterranean cruises from Rome to Cannes with a yoga instructor; an eastern Mediterranean round trip to Rome with a wine expert; and a trip round Thailand from Phuket with a journalist lecturer onboard.
A roundtrip from Bali around Indonesia with a life coach or a fashion stylist, and a Caribbean cruise with a chef are other choices.
The two smaller vessels, Star Flyer and Star Clipper, each host up to 170 guests, while the flag-ship Royal Clipper has capacity for 227 guests, offering an alternative cruise experience under thousands of feet of sails, calling into ports and harbours sometimes inaccessible to larger ships.
