The Royal Hotel

Strathmore Hotels has revealed a new winter package for groups at The Royal Hotel in Oban, Scotland which will replace the usual Christmas Turkey and Tinsel break.

Titled Drams and Dances, the Scottish-themed four day break will include live entertainment each night, afternoon tea, two drinks receptions and a cooked breakfast every day.

A five-day Itinerary

Monday: Upon arrival, guests will listen to the bagpipes being played during a welcome drinks reception. A selection of local malts can be enjoyed along with canapes. A three-course meal will be served in the evening, followed by live entertainment.

Tuesday: After breakfast, groups will be able to explore the sights of Scotland’s west coast. The Oban Museum of War & Peace is worth visiting, as is McCaig's Tower on Battery Hill.

Both attractions are free to enter and provide an insight into the town’s history.

Wednesday: The Royal Hotel will be serving afternoon tea in the afternoon, with tea and coffee, as well as a glass of bubbly and home-baked goods in the Lounge Bar.

Groups can enjoy bingo and a quiz with the chance to win prizes, followed by dinner and an evening of dancing and singing with a local musical act.

Thursday: GTOs can take advantage of another free day to explore the local area. Sightseeing ideas include the Scottish Sea Life sanctuary, where groups of ten ore more will receive 30 percent discount on tickets.

Also make time for a tour of the Oban distillery which is one of Scotland's oldest sources of single malt Scotch whisky.

Friday: Enjoy a final cooked breakfast, and depart.
