It has been announced that Danny Mac of Strictly Come Dancing and Hollyoaks fame will star as Joe Gillis in the UK and Ireland tour of Sunset Boulevard.
Danny Mac joins Ria Jones who is set to play who Norma Desmond in the Andrew Lloyd Webber production.
In 2016, Danny Mac captured the nation’s heart with his dance performances on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing, where he finished second. Mac’s theatre credits include Legally Blonde The Musical and Wicked.
Sunset Boulevard will open at Curve, in Leicester, on 16th September, before touring the UK and Ireland.

Sunset Boulevard
The musical tells the story of Norma Desmond who lives in her mansion on Sunset Boulevard. Joe Gillis is a script writer on the run from debt collectors who stumbles into the life of Norma. He is persuaded to work on her film script which she believes will put her back in the spotlight. Joe becomes seduced by Norma but trouble comes when he falls for another woman.
Sunset Boulevard is a story of both romance and obsession and is based on Billy Wilder’s film, with Don Black and Christopher Hampton’s book and lyrics.
The show’s score includes numbers such as Sunset Boulevard, With One Look, As If We Never Said Goodbye, The Greatest Star Of All and The Perfect Year and will be performed by a full orchestra.
