Symphony at the Tower, St Catherine’s Hospice’s annual charity concert in Lancashire will return next year as a three day musical extravaganza.
From Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd July groups will get the chance to enjoy an entire weekend of music all in support of St Catherine’s Hospice, near Preston.
The annual concert at Hoghton Tower began in 1995 when it was a one day live music event. Since 2013, when music promoters Cuffe and Taylor joined forces with the hospice, the event has taken place over two days. For the first time in 2016, however, Symphony at the Tower will be held over three days.
The additional day is set to allow for what organisers are calling a ‘Symphony Spectacular’ on Sunday 3rd July.
Peter Taylor, Cuffe and Taylor director said: “By adding an extra date we can programme an additional concert giving as many people as possible the opportunity to enjoy top quality live music in a fantastic setting while also raising funds for this vital service.”
Past performers include Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins, and last summer over 10,000 visitors attended the music event to see UK rock band Status Quo, opera singer Lucy Kay - formerly of Britain’s Got Talent – and British vocal group Blake perform.
The event raises vital funds to support St Catherine’s Hospice, which has provided 30 years of specialised care and support for those in Central Lancashire with life-shortening conditions.
Weekend or individual day tickets can be purchased when they will go on sale on Friday 27th November.
