A new UK tour for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time has just opened in Leeds, and will continue to visit theatres until September.
The 25 city tour will be stopping in location likes Belfast, Oxford, Cardiff and Southampton before ending finishing at the Milton Keynes Theatre on 16th September.
Synopsis
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time tells the story of Christopher Boone, who is 15 years old, suffers from Asperger syndrome, and is a mathematical genius.
When Christopher finds a dead dog on his street, he becomes intent on playing detective to the unsolved crime.
Audiences will watch as he records facts in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered the dog, and see how his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.
Cast and creative
Playing the central role of Christopher Boone is Scott Reid (currently appearing in BBC1’s comedy Still Game), with Lucianne McEvoy as his teacher Siobhan, Emma Beattie as Judy, David Michaels as his father Ed, Debra Michaels as Mrs Alexander and Eliza Collings as Mrs Shears.
The Curious Incident is adapted from Mark Haddon’s best-selling book by Simon Stephens, and directed by Marianne Elliott (War Horse).
National Theatre producer Kash Bennett said: “We were overwhelmed by the enthusiastic reception from audiences around the UK and Ireland when we toured The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time in 2014-15, playing to almost 400,000 people, and are delighted to take this beautiful and inventive show to new venues and make a return visit to others in 2017.”
